Our inspiration

Our name, ProlegoMENA, is inspired by the title of the best-known book of Ibn Khaldun, an Arab scholar of Islam, social scientist and historian. Considered to be one of the greatest philosophers of the Middle Ages, Ibn Khaldun has been described as the founder of the modern disciplines of historiography, sociology, economics, and demography, which is central to our work. 

Prolegomena also translates as "Introduction" and gives rise to the word Prologue (an opening or beginning). At ProlegoMENA, we're giving rise to something new.
